ABORTION STATISTICS
300 children are aborted every day in Canada. Since 1970, approximately 3.2 million unborn babies have been aborted in this country.
According to Statistics Canada there were 11,152 abortions in 1970. Today there are over 100,000 every year.
Official reporting of abortion statistics is currently incomplete simply because it is no longer mandatory for hospitals and abortion clinics to submit data. Missing information includes age of the mother, gestational age of the fetus, previous abortions or births, type of abortion, demographic information and medical case data including abortion complications.
In December 2010, the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), an independent not-for-profit organization, released abortion statistics for the years 2007 and 2008. CIHI indicated that much of the data for both hospital and clinic abortions is missing. Click on the link to see a more detailed report of the 2007 and 2008 Abortion Statistics.
