Respect Life Month events

The month of May is upon us, and this year we are once again celebrating May as Respect Life Month. As in previous years, we have three main events that you are invited to attend to educate yourself about life issues and to promote respect for life in our community.   March for Life Bus Trip Thursday May 11th is the National March for Life in Ottawa. This year, our bus shared with Kitchener-Waterloo Right to Life has been sponsored by generous Knights of Columbus councils to decrease our ticket prices to only $20 per seat! The Cambridge stop leaves from the SAIL store parking lot (150 Holiday Inn Drive, near Tim Hortons) at 5:45 [...]

Start out the New Year with social awareness events! Here are 3 big pro-life events happening in our area during the month of January: On Saturday, January 14th attend a Fish & Chips Dinner and learn about the censorship of abortion records in Ontario. Prematurity and Abortion in Canada

In 2012, the National Post compiled a large analysis of the statistics for Abortion & Canada. Some of the data they uncovered was that there were 93,755 abortions reported to government agencies in 2009, and that 1.9% of abortions were done after 21 weeks gestation. Abortion advocates brush this number off as though it means nothing, but how many lives and stories does this truly represent? 1.9% of 93,755 = 1781.3 Children born after 21 weeks gestation can survive outside the womb, but the National Post reveals that Canadians killed at least 1781 of those children in one year alone. That's 4-5 babies per day being killed instead of being delivered alive and given a chance to survive. [...]

2016 AGM and Documentary Screening

Join us for our Annual General Meeting and the screening of a powerful new documentary, "The Euthanasia Deception." This film transports viewers to countries such as Belgium and the Netherlands where euthanasia has been legal for many years. Families have been devastated by the impact of "mercy killing" in their lives. Learn about how legal 'safeguards' are slowly but surely stripped away, leaving us all vulnerable. "The Euthanasia Deception" is produced by DunnMedia in association with the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition. We will have Kevin Dunn, the documentary producer and director, with us at the screening to describe his experiences during filming and to answer questions. Our brief Annual General Meeting will start at 7pm, followed [...]

Stand Up for LIFE this Fall, Cambridge!

Our young people are back to school, and soon our fall and winter activities will be filling up our lives. Back-to-school is a fresh start for students to learn and grow, for families to develop good habits, and for everyone to impact the lives of people they may otherwise have not encountered. One pro-life news article concerning back to school caught my eye today - College Cancels Talk After Pro-Life People Protested. In Kansas, Newman University's history club invited a pro-abortion judge to speak on Constitution Day. Pro-life alumni, students, and locals spoke out on social media against having this judge speak at their university, and the school administration heard their cries; the pro-abortion judge will [...]

A Note of Thanks

Dear members and supporters of the Cambridge Right to Life, Although I have only been working here at the office for less than 3 months, you are already all becoming "dear" to me. I have been so impressed by the support that you have contributed to myself and the board members, particularly in this very busy month of May, our annual Respect for Life month. I have already written about earlier events, such as the March for Life and school visit to the Marian Residence retirement home. But due to the incredible turn-out to our Coffee & Dessert Evening, I felt the need to update you all once more! On Thursday, May 19th, we filled the [...]
