For many years, Cambridge Right to Life has designated the month of May as Respect for Life Month here in Cambridge.  Although our mandate is respect for all life at all times, we choose the month of May to highlight a number of special events taking place during the month.

In addition to our planned events, several churches throughout Cambridge are distributing our Respect Life Bulletin Insert to their parishioners. The focus of this year’s insert highlights the fact that the pre-born child is indeed a human being from the moment of conception. We are able to make these bulletin inserts available to your church, free of charge. Please contact us to see if your church is participating. Help us raise awareness of the value and dignity of every human being and make Respect Life Month a success by taking part in the following events:

 March For Life in Ottawa
The March for Life is the largest pro-life demonstration on Parliament Hill. Last year over 15,000 Canadians gathered together to demand legal protection for children in the womb. Cambridge Right to Life is sending a coach bus to our nation’s capital on Thursday, May 10th at 5:45 am from the parking  lot of Smitty’s Fine Furniture (Holiday Inn Drive, near Tim Horton’s) and return at approximately 11:30 pm. The cost is $60 per person. To reserve your seat or sponsor a student, please call our office.

Dessert & Coffee Evening
Guest Speaker:  MP Stephen Woodworth (Kitchener Centre)
Time:7:00 pm • Tickets: $10
Location: St. Ambrose Church, 210 South St., Cambridge
Mr. Woodworth is challenging the current definition of “human being” within the Canadian Criminal Code, which states “a child does not become a human being until the moment of complete birth.” This antiquated definition legally facilitates the termination of almost 100,000 pre-born children annually in Canada. Please call our office for tickets.

Mini-Life-Chains
April 27th, May 25th & June 29th
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
A silent witness will take place along Hespeler Road (across from the Cambridge Mall, near Tim Hortons). Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 60 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion.  It is a visual statement of solidarity by the pro-life  community that abortion kills children and that we support the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.
