Cambridge Right to Life Launches New Ad

We all know the power of media. Yesterday's roster of Super Bowl TV Ads prove the importance of capturing people's attention on the one day when viewers don’t hit the mute button during a time-out. Advertising has the power to make people sit up and take notice and that's what we're hoping to do with a new pro-life ad beginning today. Utilizing the digital signage at Hwy's 8 & 24 (Delta Intersection) our simple yet impactful message challenges the generally accepted idea that abortion is an easy fix. The Delta is one of the busiest and most heavily travelled intersections in the Waterloo Region. Our message will be viewed 4,032 per week with a guarenteed exposure once every 2.5 minutes each scheduled day. The [...]

We Need An Honest Discussion

Today is Bell Let's Talk Day. The initiative encourages conversation around the issues surrounding mental health. If we really want to address mental health, we need to be honest about the harm abortion does to women, men and families! According to the Deveber Institute, abortion raises risk of mental health problems. Their website states: In the largest study of its kind researchers have concluded that women having abortions experience an 81% increased risk of mental health problems. Published in the prestigious British Journal of Psychiatry, it also found almost 10% of all mental health problems are shown to be directly linked to abortion. Separate effects were calculated based on the type of mental health outcome [...]

Coin Drive

Cambridge Right to Life is launching a new fundraising initiative with elementary schools in our community! Background:We have always had the support of schools with the Waterloo Catholic District School board in promoting our annual Walk for Life, but lately student involvement from the elementary level has dropped significantly. We have realized that it is impossible for us to compete with things like the Terry Fox Run and the start of a very busy school year. That is why we have introduced the COINS FOR LIFE Project. Students and their families are asked to put aside loose change in our COINS FOR LIFE collection bag. We are grateful to the help of the high school students from the “Generation for Life Club" and the [...]

We love this video!

Former "Kansas" lead singer and producer John Elefante, known for such hits as “Dust in the Wind” and “Carry on My Wayward Son" is using his newest single "This Time," to share the story of his adopted daughter Sami's birth. Share this video, it has the power to save a Life! The song’s lyrics are based on the true story of what Sami’s 13-year old birth mother might have experienced as “she sat cold in a waiting room, frightened and all alone / knowing that her baby would soon be gone.” As the video unfolds, we see the dreams she had of a little girl celebrating her third birthday and growing into a woman through the [...]

Emotional Plea Confuses Issue

Yesterday's top news story around the country featured an impassioned plea of Dr. Donald Low who posthumously called on Canadians to advocate for assisted suicide. Low was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer seven months ago and he died on September 18th. There is no question that the video pulls at your heart strings but Low's message is extremely dangerous. Is it wise to pass laws without considering the unintended consequences? It is natural to be concerned about how our friends and family will receive care should they become ill. People want to be treated with dignity and equality. They want to feel safe when they are not in a position to advocate for themselves. But do [...]
